Thai Agency Identifies Suspect in International Heroin Smuggling Ring

The Narcotics Control Board (NCB) has identified the person, named 'Dear,' who was to receive heroin from a flight attendant in Australia. Several Thai individuals are also implicated.

Following discussions with Australian Federal Police, the NCB revealed that 'Dear' is the intended recipient of the heroin. The nationality of 'Dear' is pending verification.

NCB Secretary-General Pol. Maj. Gen. Suriya Singhakamol stated that 2-3 Thai individuals are involved in receiving the heroin in Australia and are under surveillance.

The NCB conducted operations in Bangkok, seizing 23 kilograms of heroin. The drugs were reportedly smuggled from neighboring countries and hidden in various items.

Heroin is smuggled into Thailand via the northeastern region, such as Loei province, and then transported to Bangkok by Thai nationals before being sent to international recipients.

This drug trafficking operation has been active for 4-5 years and is linked to several airlines. It also connects to a previous case of a flight attendant arrested in March.

The main figure behind this operation is not Thai but a Laotian international criminal. The NCB has identified this individual and is actively pursuing their capture.
